Archie Courtnall Centre

As part of the Royal Jubilee Hospital, the Archie Courtnall Centre is an emergency facility designed to provide psychiatric assessment, stabilization, and short term crisis intervention for up to 72 hours.

This 1,640 square foot addition to the existing Diagnostic & Treatment Centre straddles a challenging site with a vertical grade change of approximately six meters. Monolithic concrete shear walls and brick masonry dynamically define the major components of the building and establish a unique identity for the emergency psychiatric care facility.
