The Snuneymuxw Recreation and Wellness Centre is conceived as a community-focused gathering place where recreation, wellness, culture, and social connection come together under one roof. Located on Snuneymuxw First Nation lands in Nanaimo, the facility provides an important physical and social centre for the Nation, supporting activities that strengthen health, community participation, and intergenerational connection.

Completed in 2016, the approximately 14,000-square-foot facility brings together a full gymnasium, fitness facilities, multipurpose spaces, a commercial kitchen, and supporting community amenities. The centre was developed not simply as a recreational building, but as a flexible environment capable of supporting athletics, wellness programming, youth activities, cultural gatherings, community meetings, and larger events
